Walking Challenge for month of July!

Help Kimball collect 1,799 miles (from Sam and Frodo's walking journey in Lord of the Rings). Our goal is to re-create their walk in our neighborhoods, parks, and minds.

Frederick Douglass: What to the Slave Is the Fourth of July?

Community members read aloud Frederick Douglass's 1852 speech, "The Meaning of the Fourth of July for the Negro." Open to all, listeners and readers alike.

Immediately after the parade, on the Library's front steps; bad weather location TBA.

Vermont Reads: The Most Costly Journey

Thursday Jul 21st 10:30 am to 11:30 am

Join in a discussion of The Most Costly Journey, this year's Vermont Reads book. This anthology presents stories of survival and healing told by Latin American migrant farmworkers in Vermont, with illustrations by New England cartoonists as part of the El Viaje Mas Caro Project.

Held in collaboration with Chandler Center for the Arts as part of the the Vermont Social Justice Festival.

Bird Walk

Bird Walk with Remy! Remy carves beautiful birds and loves to talk about all the birds he has seen and photographed.

Add miles to the Kimball Walking Challenge while learning about birds, their habitat, and their songs.

All Things Hiking with Mary Anderson

Tuesday Jul 26th 6:30 pm to 8:00 pm

Mary was the first woman to hike the Appalachian Trail in winter. She followed this up with a hike of the entire Pacific Crest Trail. In her 60's she solo hiked the Continental Divide Trail. She has hiked the Long Trail six times.

Come with your questions or just to hear the stories!
