For Kids:

Summer Reading Challenge - June 15th - August 29th

       Stop by the library to sign up for our Summer Reading Book BINGO! Once you finish your BINGO, pick up a prize and a book tracker to continue the fun. 

Red Clover & Golden Dome Challenge - May 1st, 2026 - May 31st, 2027

     Read VT's youth choice book awards this summer! Youth voting takes place in the spring of 2027. Track each book you've read from the list at Kimball - for each 5 that you read, pick a prize. Find more information about Red Clover Books for kindergarten through fourth grade or Golden Dome Books for fourth through eighth grade on their sites. 

Summer events for kids at Kimball Public Library: 

• Summer Reading Kickoff - Birds & Bagels with VINS, Wednesday June 17th at Bethany Church 10:00am
• Themed crafts with Rachelle on Saturdays 10am-12pm: June 20th, July 18th, August 15th 
• Make Music Day - Sunday, June 21st at 10:00am with Lois Fein
• Nature Based Play with the Four Winds Institute on the side lawn, Wednesday June 24th at 10:30am (Rain date: July 1st at 10:30am)
• Montshire Museum: Investigating Fossils - Friday, July 17 at 10:30am & 11:30am (limit of 25 people per session)
• Storytimes on Wednesdays & Fridays at 10:30 with a craft after

Green Mountain Book Award Challenge - May 1st, 2026 - May 31st, 2027

• Author Talk, Discussion, and Q&A from William Alexander on Sunward, a 2026 GMBA nominee: August 11th at 6:30pm
• Outdoor Watercolor series with Delia, Saturdays:
  • August 15th, 3:00-5:00pm at the Randolph Rec Park, meet at the pavilion
  • August 29th, 3:30-5:30pm at Brookfield's Sunset Lake (Floating Bridge), meet at the park
• Wool Applique (embroidery) with Lyn on August 22nd, 1:30 - 4:00pm, ages 12 and up please. Sign ups required, please email [email protected]. 
• Silent Reading Parties on Tuesdays:
  • June 30th at 7:00pm at the Randolph Rec Park near the pavilion
  • July 28th at 7:00pm at Allis State Park near the fire tower

Summer Book Bingo June 15th - August 31st

        Stop by the Library for a copy of the Summer Reading BINGO challenge! Submit your BINGO to enter a drawing for one of three gift cards to Windy Lane Bakehouse.

Notes on BINGO boxes:

• Research using a Personal Curriculum Zine - zines can be found at the library
• We will add book displays to match different BINGO boxes throughout the summer, but definitely ask a librarian if you need suggestions!

Walking Challenge: July 1st-July 31st and August 1st - August 31st

        Log your daily miles using out mileage calendar, submit at the end of the month (two submission dates = two chances to win - July 31st and August 31st) for a prize drawing of a gift card to The Gear House.
